Adjutana
AI secretary
Sorts your mail, drafts replies in your own voice, keeps your tasks and calendar. Entirely on your own computer — no letter ever leaves it.
01
About
An executive’s inbox is not correspondence — it is a stream of decisions. Three hundred letters a week, half of which need a reply and a quarter an action, all mixed in with newsletters.
Adjutana takes that stream off your hands: it separates real letters from machine noise, drafts replies in your own manner — learned from the letters you have actually sent — and pulls tasks out of your mail into the calendar.
The model runs on your computer. Not “your data is encrypted” and not “we keep no logs”: the correspondence physically never leaves the machine, because there is nowhere to send it.

What it does
-
Sorts your mail
Separates conversations from newsletters and robots. Collapses quoted text, assembles the whole thread, reads attachments — including docx, xlsx and PDF.
-
Drafts replies
Works from precedent: an incoming letter and the real reply you once wrote. Plus a style guide you edit yourself, and what it learns from your corrections.
-
Keeps tasks
A task is pulled out of a letter with one click. Columns are about importance, not stage. Reminders; personal kept apart from work.
-
Holds the calendar
The day as a plan: what matters by the hour, the optional below. Overlaps and gaps between meetings are visible. A task with a due date goes into the calendar.
-
Listens
Dictation is recognised on this same computer. Say a task and it is on the board; mention a meeting and it is in the calendar.
-
Answers questions
Search your own correspondence in plain words, not by keywords. The answer comes with the letters it rests on.
03
Your data
Cloud models are more capable than local ones. That is a plain fact: they hold more parameters and more compute than any desktop machine can offer.
Even so, correspondence is not sent to outside services. The reason is not a phrase about security: an executive’s inbox holds not their own personal data but information about other people — exchanges with parents, case materials, salary details, references, medical documents.
Handing such information to a third-party service is a decision taken on behalf of people who never consented to it. The responsibility rests with the data controller — that is, with you, not with the owner of the service.
-
Nothing to send
Not “the data is encrypted” and not “logs are not kept”. Transmission is technically impossible: the program holds no addresses of outside services.
-
No counters, no analytics
There is no telemetry, no analytics and no collection of anonymised usage data. The program reports nothing about its work to anyone, including its developer.
-
Unplugs at the wall
Mail, database and model all sit on one computer. Switch it off and no party has access to the data.
What it costs
Answer quality falls short of the best cloud models: the gap shows on tasks of complex reasoning and is slight on sorting correspondence and preparing drafts. A computer with enough memory is required. An answer takes a few seconds to form.
This is a deliberate limitation, not an oversight. If maximum model quality is the priority and the correspondence holds no information about third parties, a cloud service will serve better. Adjutana is meant for the other case.
04
Hardware
Adjutana lives where your mail lives. There is exactly one choice: carry it with you or leave it at home.
Models run on the Apple Silicon GPU, and what limits them is not the processor but memory: the more of it and the faster it is, the larger the model and the quicker the answer.
-
With you
MacBook Pro
Everything on one machine: the mail and the model. Nothing to switch on remotely — the assistant works on a plane or at a cottage with no internet.
from 36 GB of memory · M3 Max and newer
-
At home
Mac Studio
Stands in the corner and stays quiet. Holds the largest model: answers are noticeably faster and more accurate. Laptop and phone connect to it over your own network.
from 32 GB of memory · the fastest per unit of price
-
At home, compact
Mac mini
The size of a book and half the price of the desktop. Just as quiet, but holds a smaller model — answers come at a calmer pace. Everything else is the same: mail, tasks, calendar, same connections.
from 24 GB of memory · the most affordable way in
Measured on a MacBook Pro M3 Max with 36 GB: a 35-billion-parameter model answers at 53 words per second — faster than you can read. Sorting a letter takes seconds; a draft reply about a minute.
No letter ever
leaves the computer
No cloud, no outside keys, no “anonymous statistics”. Mail, database and model sit on one machine, and you can switch it off by pulling the plug.

Releases
-
Soon
first release
- The server is an ordinary app: no Docker, no Postgres to install.
- Private network built in: reach it from a laptop or phone without a second install.
- A separate key per device: a lost phone is revoked on its own.
- Speech recognition and vector search — all on the same machine.
The build is going through review. A link will appear here as soon as the release is ready.

I write code and build products as a hobby that occasionally turns out more useful than the day job. Adjutana grew out of a problem of my own: mail was eating my evenings, and nothing ready-made felt trustworthy enough to hand correspondence to.
